Our tribute of praise can never match the wondrous measure of thy mercy. Our lips can never express the depth of gratitude which our hearts feel. In thy providence we have been kept, of thy bounty we have partaken, and under the shadow of thy wings our souls have learned to rejoice. Thus far thou hast brought us along the pilgrim-ways of life. Goodness and mercy have followed us all our days. By green pastures we have been led. In the dark valley we have not walked alone. Our comfort has been in thy rod and thy staff. We thank thee that we are made to be dependent, that none of us can live to himself. But most of all we thank thee that thou art dependable, naming us one by one, marking our several needs, and supplying all that we require, and more, out of treasure stores of eternal mercy. Hear us, O God, as our hearts at their best, and their humblest, ascribe unto thee the glory that belongeth to thy name. Thus in praise of thee we find our steadfast, unfrightened hope in thee. Amen.
